Occupy everything. http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2011/11/occupy-wall-street-7-weeks-in/100183/

The 'occupy' movement that started out in Wall Street continues to make headlines around the world. Their complaint? The rich keep getting richer and the rest of us have noticed. People are expressing their frustration with the unequal distribution of wealth, lack of healthcare, lack of social services and their inability to find paid work despite a willingness to work hard and qualifications to do so.

The sometimes violent clashes between police and protestors has attracted media attention but the protests have been largely peaceful and represent a significant post GFC moment. Anger at bankers and politicians and their lifestyles is white hot and doesn't look like it's going away any time soon. The catch cry 'we are the 99%' reflects protesters belief that the vast majority of people are working for the benefit of the 1%.

Something has got to give.

This photo gallery from The Atlantic illustrates the movement across the globe.

The Occupy Protests are back in the news. I'm just wondering why politicians seem to be reticent to meet with the protestors; Why the big end of town are not responding and (probably in an area that I need to scratch) - where are those organisations who knock at my door begging for money so that I can "make the world a better place"? Here is an opportunity to quote your stats, here is an opportu...nity to get down and get dirty; here is an opportunity to identify the genesis of those things that you use for the premise of your own existence. I will look forward to seeing the emblems of the Salvation Army, Red Cross, Uniting Care Wesley, etc, etc, on the tents at the protests. Yeh, not this side of "thy Kingdom come".
