James Matthews Integrity is about convergence between what’s important to us, what we say and what we do. Living an authentic Christian life also means discovering and living our place in God’s story. It’s not my story — it’s God’s — I just need to work out the role I’m called to play and I can’t do this on my own.

Potatoes are humble because they grow in the ground. The word 'humble' comes from the Latin, 'humus,' meaning ground or soil. Presumably it is a contraction of ‘humus-able’, ‘able to dwell in the soil’. So maybe this is why Jesus tells us that it is the meek (another word for humble) who shall inherit the earth. |

Rick Morrell and Alison Atkinson-Phillips “Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people” (Karl Marx). Religion is seen by some people as a pain killer, a crutch to help us get through the hard times. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but, like other drugs, if you go too far religion can tip your life out of balance and lead to addiction.

Jesus: the original SNAG? |

Niall McKay I doubt that the term SNAG (sensitive new age guy) could be applied to Jesus in any simple sense. I just can't see Jesus being particularly interested in the myriad concerns that are supposed to consume the life of any self-respecting metrosexual. But perhaps there is something we can understand about Jesus in a SNAGGY kind of way.
